Are appointments in person or virtual?

Both virtual and in-office options are available.

Where do I go for my appointment?

We have 3 buildings in Stratford where therapists work: 153 and 157 Huron Street and 35 Market Place. Make sure to confirm the location when booking your appointment.

How much does it cost?

Practitioners set their own fees and they will vary from therapist to therapist.  Fees can range is from  $100-$170 per session. Most appointments are for 50-60 minutes.

Is the service covered by OHIP?

No, the only services covered by OHIP are those provided in a medical setting (hospitals and medical care centres).

Is there coverage for fees?

Most benefit plans offer some coverage for mental health services and cover psychologists, registered social workers and registered psychotherapists.  Please check your specific plan’s guidelines.

A referral to a graduate student completing their practicum training with us allows for a significantly reduced fee. Please consult with our Administrator for more information.

Victim Services may provide funding for select therapists on referral from the Victim Quick Response Program.

Family Health Teams – some offer direct referral from your family physician. Consult with your family physician team for information.

How long will I have to wait to be seen?

Usually a maximum of two weeks.

Do I need to be referred by my doctor?

No, you may self-refer.

How do I pay for the service?

Unless otherwise billed via an EAP program, the client pays for therapy sessions after each session and then they submit the invoice for reimbursement.

Are my sessions confidential?

All counselling sessions are held in complete confidence and your therapist will review the parameters of confidentiality and privacy with you at the first session
