Hello and Welcome!
It is my personal belief that it is a birthright to live a joyful and purposeful life. I strive to empower clients to create and be the change they are desiring, by encouraging personal growth and self-leadership.
My therapeutic approach is grounded in honesty and integrity. I value a holistic approach to therapy that incorporates mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual elements.
To ensure collaboration and person-centred therapy, my practice is structured using an eclectic approach informed by, and not limited to, the following psychotherapeutic modalities: Internal Family Systems Model (IFS), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing (MI), Narrative, Psychosomatic/Somatic, Humanistic, Psychodynamic, Emotionally-Focused, Family of Origin, Systems, Solution Focused, Strengths-Based.
I have a special interest in Trauma and Attachment Theories. In Greek, trauma means “wound”. When we are wounded, we are in pain. When we are in pain, we disconnect, and our brains wire for protection. Our brains are naturally wired for connection, but when we experience trauma/wounding, our brains rewire. By learning new strategies, reconnection and recovery is possible!
I am very excited to be offering as a tool in my practice, NeurOptimal®’s Dynamical Neurofeedback® Brain Training, a non-invasive advanced neurofeedback technology developed by clinical psychologists and designed to train the brain to function optimally, with greater flexibility and resilience.
I have more than 18 years of experience working with diverse populations in a variety of professional settings. I have had the pleasure of serving individuals of all ages, mandated clients, individuals living with brain injuries, diagnosis of an intellectual disability, mental illness/mental health diagnosis, behavioural disorders, dual diagnosis, concurrent disorders, and individuals affected by family/domestic violence, unemployment, criminal justice system involvement and homelessness.
I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).
I look forward to being part of the change you create, as we explore all possibilities!
