
Frances O’Malley
MD, FRCPC, CMT-P
Dr. Frances O’Malley is a physician and a certified Mindfulness teacher. She is Professor Emerita at the University of Toronto, a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, a member of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and a member of the International Mindfulness Teacher’s Association. Frances has completed two years of Somatic Experiencing training (a form of trauma therapy), as well as a certification program in Mindfulness-Based Chronic Pain Management™ through the University of Toronto, SCS and the NeuroNova Centre.
Frances facilitates an online trauma-informed Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Program (MBSR-CC) specifically tailored to those suffering from a range of chronic conditions including pain, anxiety and depression. This 12-week online course is conducted in small groups (12-14 people) and requires little or no mindfulness experience. The next MBSRCC course will commence on March 19, 2025 and enrolment for this course is now open.
Frances also offers an 8-week mindfulness-based compassion practices (MBCP) course for those who have completed a basic Mindfulness program. This compassion course is online and is also conducted in small groups.
Both the MBSR-CC course and the MBCP course are covered by OHIP.
