Rob Munford
MA, RP
He/Him
Rob’s therapy approach is based on his belief that the past can be a helpful guide to explaining our present, but it does not have to dictate our future. By working together, we can expand the possibilities and ways of thinking about problems, empowering us to make new choices.
He works with teens and adults of any age, both individually and as couples, providing empathy and safety to explore the challenges we face. Rob’s style is collaborative, non-judgmental, and practical.
Rob’s areas of focus are anxiety, depression, anger, self-esteem, relationships, parenting, men’s issues, as well as personal development and careers. He is a student of the Gottman Method of Couples Counselling, and has a strong desire to help couples rebuild their sense of connection and emotional intimacy.
Rob has a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MA), a Bachelor’s Degree in English & Philosophy, and is a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. He has a wide variety of life experience to draw on, as a husband, father, and having worked in the corporate world for several years. In addition, Rob moved to Canada from the U.K. in 2004, so has a unique understanding of adapting to change and cultural difference. His work integrates several different modalities, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Interpersonal Therapy.
Rob has a passion for normalizing therapy, especially for men, and to make it a part of our overall well-being. If you or someone you know wants to learn more about the process and what to expect, Rob would be glad of the opportunity to talk.
